Strategic Web Banner Placement: Maximising Visibility and Engagement
The effectiveness of a web banner largely hinges on its placement. Strategic positioning ensures that banners are both visible and appealing to the site's visitors, thereby increasing the likelihood of clicks and engagement. Here are key considerations for optimal placement.
Prerequisites
Before you can launch your Banner, your development team must set up placements in your app or website. You can still draft your Banner campaign in the meantime, but you won’t be able to launch the campaign until the placements are configured.
What are banner ads?
A banner ad, also known as a display ad, is similar to a digital billboard in that it uses imagery (hence the term "banner") to attract attention with the goal of driving traffic to the advertiser's site.
Cost per click (CPC) - The price for each ad click
CPC (Cost Per Click) means the amount an advertiser pays each time someone clicks on their ad.
Example: If your CPC is $0.50 and your ad gets 100 clicks, you pay $50 total.
Formula:
CPC = Total ad cost ÷ Number of clicks
